Philip Chaffin, the co-founder of PS Classics, told Playbill.com, "Jamie [deRoy] spent almost six years gathering the songwriters she wanted. That she was able to corral this kind of talent on one album is pretty amazing in and of itself. We’d had the fun here at PS Classics of hearing composers sing their songs on demos and archival recordings, but we’d never had the pleasure of hearing them take on their own work in new performances, shaping them and arranging them and mixing them as they saw fit. It was a truly exhilarating experience, and I think a real feather in Jamie’s cap."
