John Leguizamo's hit one-man show, Spic-O-Rama, will open for an extended run at Hartford's TheaterWorks, Jan. 3-Feb. 16. Spic-O-Rama satirizes the urban Hispanic household, and is performed by Ricardo Ibarra-Rivera, who starred last year in Theaterworks' production of Leguizamo's Mambo Mouth.
Spic-O-Rama runs longer than normal TheaterWorks shows, and has added Tuesday performances to TheaterWorks usual Wednesday through Sunday schedule. Ticket demand is anticipated to be very high, considering that the show has won The Theatre World Award, The Lucille Lortel Award, and the Dramatist Guild Award for Best Play.
The Chicago Tribune called it "Wildly entertaining and memorable. . .One of those rare events. . .that deserve the word "phenomenal.'"
