News   Spielberg, Dee, Davis and Travolta Honored at Nov. 17 Stella by Starlight Gala An all-star gala will be held Nov. 17 at the famed Rainbow Room in Manhattan to honor the recipients of the 2003 Stella Adler Studio of Acting Awards.

Entitled Stella by Starlight, the evening will include cocktails and dinner, the awards presentation and a tribute to the American musical theatre. The musical portion will be conceived by Gordon Hunt and Roy Scheider and directed by Hunt. The 2003 award winners include Oscar winner Steven Spielberg, who will receive the Jacob Adler Award for "courageous contributions to American culture"; acting couple Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis, who will be honored with the Group Theater Award for "prolific achievement in theatre, film and television arts and for community and social commitment"; and film and television star John Travolta, who will be presented with the Stella Adler Award "for consummate artistic achievement and interpretation."

Individual tickets for the black-tie evening are priced at $1,000; tables of ten range from $5,000-$25,000. For more information call (212) 838 2660.

The evening will benefit the Stella Adler Studio's scholarship fund, community outreach and special programs as well as the expansion of the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater.
