Known for his role as press secretary Paul Lassiter on "Spin City," Richard Kind will be entering the medical field in the world premiere of Perfect, playing Oct. 3-Nov. 11 at Los Angeles' Tiffany Theatre. Joining him in the comic drama are filmdom's Judy Greer ("The Wedding Planner," "What Women Want") and TV's Lola Glaudini ("NYPD Blue").
Anna and Andrew are a bright, young, Upper-East-Side couple who decide to genetically engineer the sex of their child. Using projectors, filmed and live video in a collage with the theatre action, Perfect explores why America strives to fulfill its needs, even when what those needs are isn't clear at all.
Mark Kassen (Things You Shouldnt Say Past Midnight) wrote the play and stars as Andrew. Greer is Anna with Kind as Doctor/Gregory and Glaudini as Jillian/Tarro/Cheryl. Also in the cast are Kassen's brother Adam (Caleb) and Logan Ernsthal (Documentarian).
Charles Otte directs. Artistic director of L.A.'s Mojave Group, he has directed Goose and Tomtom, Grizzly Cargo, Goose Amid the Revolt and King Stag, as well as The Good Woman of Setzuan with Andrei Serban and the world premiere of Mikhail Bulgakov's Bliss.
Tickets are $25. The Tiffany Theater is located at 8532 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. For reservations, call (310) 289-2999. — By Christine Ehren
