News Stamos Out of Broadway's Nine Nov. 15-18; Schoeffler Steps In Current Nine star John Stamos will not perform in the Tony Award-winning revival Nov. 15-18, according to a production spokesperson.

Understudy Paul Schoeffler will take on the lead role of Guido Contini as Stamos heads to the west coast to host an annual charity event for his mother Loretta. Stamos will also be taping upcoming airings of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Nov. 17 at 12:05 AM, ET), a CNN spot (Nov. 17 at 7:15 PM, ET) and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (Nov. 18 at 10 AM, ET) while in California.

The busy Stamos will also appear on NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly" (Nov. 14 at 1:35 AM, ET).

Schoeffler, who fills in for the role, has appeared in Beauty and the Beast, Cyrano, Victor/Victoria and the national tours of Les Misérables, Promises, Promises and Peter Pan.

The new David Leveaux staging of Nine features a new cast including Stamos as the show's focal character Guido Contini opposite a slew of women including Eartha Kitt, Rebecca Luker, Sara Gettelfinger and Mary Stuart Masterson.
