News   Starry Three Sisters Begins London Previews March 20 Christopher Hampton's new version of Chekhov's Three Sisters begins previews at London's Playhouse Theatre March 20.

Kristin Scott Thomas is Masha, Kate Burton — who is making her West End debut — plays Olga, and Madeleine Worrall is Irina in the Michael Blakemore-directed production, which officially opens April 3. The classic play will run 10 weeks through May 18.

Others in the cast include David Antrobus as Rode, Sebastian Bates as Fedotik, Robert Bathurst as Vershinin, Tom Beard as Solyony, David Burke as Chebutykin, James Fleet as Kulygin, Douglas Hodge as Andrei, Margery Mason as Anfisa, Tobias Menzies as Tusenbach, Eric Sykes as Ferapont and Susannah Wise as Natasha.

Produced by Howard Panter (for the Ambassador Theatre Group), Elizabeth I. McCann and Matthew Mitchell, the creative team for Three Sisters includes Robin Don (set design), John Bright (costume design), Mark Henderson (lighting design) and Paul Arditti (sound design) with music by Richard Storry.

Best known for her work in such films as "Gosford Park," "The Horse Whisperer," "The English Patient" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral," Kristin Scott Thomas has also appeared in numerous stage productions in France, including the recent, Lambert Wilson-directed production of Racine's Bérénice. Kate Burton received two Tony Award nominations last season for her work in the revivals of Hedda Gabler and The Elephant Man. Her screen credits include "Celebrity," "Ice Storm," "First Wives Club" and "August." Madeleine Worrall's theatre credits are numerous, and her television work includes "Foyle's War" and "Judge John Deed."

Three Sisters will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 4 PM. Tickets, ranging from £17.50 to £40, are available by calling the Playhouse Theatre's box office at 020 7369 1785.
