Entitled Shaping the Future of Young Actors, the evening will feature a performance of Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things. The event kicks off with a welcome cocktail reception at 6:30 PM, followed by the 8 PM performance and then a meet-the-cast party at 10 PM. Don Williams will direct the award-winning LaBute play about an art student who befriends a museum guard. The cast features Amy Ewing as Evelyn, Roger Lirtsman as Philip, David Lengel as Adam and Leigh Kittay as Jenny. (The play will also be presented March 3 and 5 at 7 PM, March 6 at 2 PM and March 7 at 7 PM.)
The fundraiser will benefit the Stella Adler Outreach Program for Teens at three separate locations: Grand St. Settlement, Hudson Guild and Brandeis High School. Marlon Brando, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Tom Oppenheim are the honorary chairmen of the March 9 event.
The Stella Adler Studio of Acting is located in Manhattan at 31 West 27th Street, third floor. Tickets, priced at $200, are available by calling Michelle Six at (212) 689-0087.
