Covenant House, the non-profit charity that dedicates its services to homeless youth, sponsors the event in which individuals sleep on the streets to raise funds and awareness for the shelters across the country. New York City's event begins with a Vigil for Homeless Youth at 6 PM in Times Square that features a performance by Drood star Block, Harvey and songwriter Nerg.
"We're going to transform Times Square into a center of hope and solidarity for homeless youth," Covenant House president Kevin Ryan said in a statement. "We will march with our kids from the crisis shelter to Times Square, and our kids will share their stories of hope and inspiration. Combined with the Sleep Out, this will be a night that will transform the lives of thousands of homeless youth across North America."
