News   Sternhagen, Connoly to Participate in Cocktail Party Post-Show Discussions at TACT
The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) will host a series of discussions following performances of its production of T.S. Eliot's The Cocktail Party, which begins performances March 7 at the Beckett Theatre.

Labeled "Cocktail Chatter," the discussions will take place following performances March 19, March 26 and April 2. The April 2 discussion will feature two-time Tony winner Frances Sternhagen and Patricia Conolly, who both appeared in the last Broadway revival of the play.

TACT will also host post-show talkbacks with The Cocktail Party's director, Scott Alan Evans, and cast after every Sunday matinee.

Sternhagen and Conolly appeared in a 1968 Broadway production of The Cocktail Party, which received a Best Play Tony Award for its Broadway premiere in 1950. The actresses will discuss the play with Evans in a conversation entitled "The Party Continues."

The March 19 post-show discussion, "The T.S. Eliot Poetry Jam," will feature TACT company members reading excerpts from Eliot's poetry, with commentary by Eliot scholar Dr. Patrick Query.

The March 26 talkback, "From the Drawing Room to the Psychiatrist's Chair," will examine the play's darker psychological and spiritual themes. Guests will include Eliot scholar Dr. Matthew Bolton, Fr. John R. Sheehan of St. Malachy's Chapel (or The Actors' Chapel) and psychotherpaist Lawrence Schwartz. The Beckett Theatre is located at 410 W. 42nd St. For tickets call (212) 279-4200 or visit
