Presented Feb. 24 at 7:30 PM, the evening will feature Sting and Last Ship cast member Jimmy Nail in conversation and offering songs from the new musical. Emmy Award nominee Rob Mathes will be on piano.

Sting performed a concert of music from The Last Ship as a benefit for New York's Public Theater last fall. That engagement was filmed for broadcast on PBS' "Great Performances" Feb. 21 at 9 PM.

The new musical will have its pre-Broadway premiere June 10-July 13 at Chicago's Bank of America Theatre prior to a New York arrival in the fall.

The Last Ship features a score by Sting and a book by Tony Award winners Brian Yorkey and John Logan. Tony Award-winning director Joe Mantello (Wicked, Other Desert Cities, The Normal Heart) directs the musical. Click here to read more about The Last Ship.

Here's how the musical is billed: "Life in the English seafaring town of Wallsend has always revolved around the local shipyard, where the hardworking men of this close-knit community construct magnificent vessels with tremendous pride. But Gideon Fletcher dreams of a different future. He sets out to travel the world, leaving his life and his love behind. When Gideon returns home fourteen years later, he finds the shipyard’s future in grave danger and his childhood sweetheart engaged to someone else. As the men of Wallsend take their fate into their own hands and build a towering representation of the shared dream that has defined their existence, Gideon realizes that he left behind more than he could have ever imagined."
