Storm Theatre Company's first production -- both of the new year and in its new home, the Studio on West 46th Street -- will be Arrah na Pogue (Arrah of the Kiss). Previews begin Jan. 10. The show opens Jan. 14.
Set in 1798, the classic Irish comedy is written by Dion Boucicault who uses the famed Rebellion as a backdrop for his tale of love, faith, loyalty and betrayal -- with a smile.
Storm staged Boucicault's The Shaughraun a few seasons ago, marking that play's first revival in New York City in close to 100 years.
Under the guidance of Storm artistic director Peter Dobbins and producing director Mark O'Toole, Arrah will feature cast members Kate Brennan, Conn Horgan, Marian Thomas Griffin, Laurence Drozd, Bernard Smith, J.J. Reap, and Dan Berkey. Set designer is Mary Houston, costume designer is Shura Pollatsek and lighting designer is Chuck Cameron.
Arrah na Pogue runs at the Studio, the new creative and administrative home for Storm Theatre Company, located at 145 West 46th Street in New york City. Tickets are $15, available through Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200. -- By Murdoch McBride
