News Summer Play Festival Seeking Line Producers, Directors, Designers for 2006 Event The Summer Play Festival (SPF) is currently accepting applications for Line Producers, Directors, Designers, and Production Stage Managers for its 2006 Festival, which runs from July 5-30. Applications are accepted online through March 1.

The submission deadline for scripts passed on Dec. 15, 2005. For more information visit the SPF website at www.spfnyc.com/work.

The three-year-old festival recently spawned its first New York commercial production in Kenny Finkle's Indoor/Outdoor, now Off-Broadway at DR2. That play was seen at the 2005 festival.

The festival is the brainchild of producer Arielle Tepper. The festival covers production costs of all the shows, making it a much cushier environment for artists than, say, the New York International Fringe Festival, in which participants pay a nonrefundable $500 fee and pay for all aspects of mounting the show, save renting a space. Additionally, the festival holds no rights to the shows at any times.
