The cast includes Susan Booth (Norma Desmond), Michael Stacey (Joe Gillis), Patrick Harrison (Max von Mayerling), Nikki Davison (Betty Schaefer), Russell Hughes (Artie Green), Alan Scobbie (Sheldrake), Daniel Penfold (Cecil B. DeMille), Mark Bonington, Trudi Camilleri, Francesca Canty, Ed Curry, Laura Fox, Will Howells, Kathryn Hyde, Ben Kelly, Julia Kleinsteuber, Jaime Laity, Hannah Parker Smith, Judith Perkins, Kate Vlietstra and Sean Westwood.

Sunset Boulevard, according to press notes, "weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. Silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen, having been discarded by tinsel town with the advent of 'talkies.' Her glamour has faded in all but her mind. When she meets struggling Hollywood screenwriter Joe Gillis in dramatic circumstances, their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to a tragic conclusion."

The musical was first staged in London in 1994 starring Patti LuPone and Kevin Anderson, before opening in Los Angeles and Broadway with Glenn Close. LuPone was succeeded by Betty Buckley, Elaine Paige and Petula Clark. Buckley and Paige also later played Broadway. The new production will have set design by John Winters, technical direction by Adrian Jeakins, lighting design by Chris Taylor & Graham Webb, assistant set design by Roberta Volpe, projection design by Clarisse O'Dell, carpentry by Justin Heister, sound design by Andy Bennett, stage management by Hannah Hurley, props by Angela Hay, wardrobe styling by Lemington Ridley and wardrobe supervision by Yvonne Higgins.

The Bridewell Theatre is located on Bride Lane, Fleet Street. For tickets visit www.geoidsmt.co.uk.
