It went really well," said Swing! spokesperson Ash Curtis, describing the cast's dance presentation on NBC's "Today" show March 10.

Curtis told Playbill On-Line, "They did 'Throw That Girl Around,' which is the competition number, and Katie Couric interviewed Everett Bradley. The dancers were just great. They played to the crowd, they played to the camera and the audience just went crazy."

While dancers from the cast of Swing! started March 10 with sunrise warm-ups at NBC's Rockefeller Center studio plaza, Swing! singer Laura Benanti will wrap up the day with the addition of a new song in the show. The new song that Benanti will sing is "Skylark," written by Johnny Mercer and Hoagy Carmichael circa 1942.

"I haven't heard the full arrangement," Curtis told Playbill On-Line, "but I did hear her rehearsing it with a piano and it's like everything else she does--she sounds gorgeous."

As reported earlier, cast members from Swing! performed the show's popular dance duel, "Throw That Girl Around"/"Show Me What You Got" for the first time outside the St. James Theatre on NBC's "Today" show on March 10. Swing! stars Everett Bradley, Casey MacGill and The Gotham City Gates (Swing!'s band), led dancers Beverly Durand, Aldrin Gonzalez, Carlos Sierra Lopez and Maria Torres through the popular number, which was written by Everett Bradley. Tickets to Swing! range from $20-$80. Swing! opened Dec. 9 at Broadway's St. James Theatre, located at 246 West 44th Street. Tickets are available from Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or (800) 432-7250.
