The seven-program season runs through May 2005, and features guest conductors Patrick Flynn, Thomas Conlin, Paul Polivnick, William Boughton, and Lan Shui, among others; soloists include pianist Natasha Paremski and violinists Robin Mayforth and Ju-Young Baek.
This season marks the San Jose-based orchestra's third season. The orchestra was formed in 2002 after the San Jose Symphony disbanded and filed for bankruptcy, and began as an offshoot of the Ballet San Jose orchestra. After a series of concerts in 2002-03, Symphony Silicon Valley was officially incorporated and Andrew Bales, the former head of the ballet, was named president of the new symphony.
This year marks the first time that the ensemble will perform in the newly renovated 1,000-seat California Theater in downtown San Jose.
