A spokesperson for the new Boy George musical said that Esparza is expected back in the show tonight. The actor, who has been suffering from a throat ailment, missed the weekend and Monday night performances of the Rosie O'Donnell-produced show. Standby Donnie R. Keshawarz played those performances. Taboo officially opens Nov. 13.

Taboo also features George O'Dowd (aka Boy George) as Leigh Bowery, Euan Morton as Boy George, Sarah Uriarte Berry as Nicola, Liz McCartney as Big Sue, Cary Shields as Marcus and Jeffrey Carlson as Marilyn. The company comprises Jennifer Cody, Dioni Michelle Collins, Brooke Elliott, Lisa Gajda, Bob Gaynor, Curtis Holbrook, Lori Holmes, Jennifer Mrozik, Nathan Peck, Alexander Quiroga, Asa Somers, Denise Summerford, Jody Reynard, James Tabeek and Gregory Treco.

Raul Esparza starred on Broadway in Cabaret and The Rocky Horror Show. He was seen in the national tours of Evita and tick, tick . . . BOOM! and also starred in two of the Stephen Sondheim musicals that comprised the Sondheim Celebration, Sunday in the Park with George and Merrily We Roll Along.
