Performances continue through Dec. 21 at Brooklyn's JACK.
Performances include Sister Mine, presented by Alex Randrup; DAY?NIght?f*ck.., with text from Moyshe-Leyb Halpern/William Burke and featuring Burke; and a free Yiddish poetry reading/panel with Shane Baker.
"TMT’s Lab offers a sampler of works from the canon of Yiddish theatre and literature, to remind us all how diverse and sophisticated Yiddish culture was, and how great its loss," press notes state.
The lab is presented as part of Target Margin Theater's series Beyond the Pale that features Yiddish literature and includes staged productions, one-time events, concerts, installations, panel discussions and a reading series of new translations.
“We’re very excited to be kicking off our season at JACK and continuing our exploration and journey through Yiddish literature and culture. Once again, with this year’s Lab we want to share with you a Yiddish theatre you never knew existed," John Del Gaudio, curator and TMT artistic producer, said in a statement.
