Obituaries Taylor John, Les Miserables Actor, Dies at 28 Taylor John, who performed on Broadway in the role of Gavroche in Les Miserables in the early 1990s, died March 9. He was 28.

He died as a result of a seizure and heart failure caused by an overdose of prescription drugs, his sister Tamara Mannelly said. Mr. John was the son of former White Sox pitcher Tommy John. Prior to his stint on Broadway, Mr. John played Gavroche for one year in the national touring company of Les Miserables. In recent years, John worked as a teacher's assistant at Deerpath Middle School in Lake Forest.

Visitation is set for 1 PM March 13 at St. Patrick's, 991 S. Waukegan Rd. Lake Forest, in Chicago. A service will follow at 2 PM.
