For the past year the TKTS Booth has offered same-day evening and next-day matinee discount tickets to dozens of Broadway, Off-Broadway, music, dance and Brooklyn performing arts events at discounted prices. In a statement TDF executive director Victoria Bailey said, "We're thrilled to be serving Brooklyn residents, MetroTech area employees and visitors with the Brooklyn TKTS Booth. This first year has been a challenge – we opened just before the economic slump began and public awareness of the booth has built more slowly than we expected. Sales during the winter months were slow, but as the weather has warmed up and word-of-mouth continues, we have seen an encouraging steady improvement in business. Increased word of mouth has been supported by the marketing efforts of the MetroTech BID, TDF's grass roots efforts, and support from local businesses, especially the Brooklyn Marriott. We are committed to serving Brooklyn – as more and more people discover they can purchase discount tickets easily and without a wait, business will get stronger and stronger."

TKTS Downtown Brooklyn is located on the ground floor of 1 MetroTech Center at the corner of Jay Street and Myrtle Avenue Promenade.

Hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday, 11 AM-6 PM. TKTS sells tickets to same-day evening performances and next-day matinee performances at discounts of up to 50 percent off full price. TKTS Downtown Brooklyn accepts credit cards, cash and travelers checks.

TKTS is a project of Theatre Development Fund (TDF), a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. TDF has two other TKTS Discount Booths: a new Times Square TKTS Booth under the red glass steps in Duffy Square; and the Lower Manhattan TKTS Booth is located at South Street Seaport at the corner of Front and John Streets.
