Classic Arts News Tenor Marcello Giordani to Perform in New York's Columbus Day Parade Tenor Marcello Giordani will take time out from the Metropolitan Opera, where he is currently singing in Madama Butterfly and La Gioconda, to perform in New York's Columbus Day Parade next Monday, October 9.
Giordani will sing "E vui durmiti ancora," a song from his native Sicily with melody by Gaetano Emanuele CalÐ, on the Red Carpet (on Fifth Avenue between 68th and 69th Streets) at 12:40 pm.

The parade will be broadcast in New York (by WNBC-TV) and in other US cities (check local listings); in Italy and elsewhere in Europe, the parade will be broadcast on RAI International.

Giordani will also sing Schubert's Ave Maria and Franck's Panis Angelicus during the 9:30 am Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral preceding the parade.
