News The CW Will Resurrect Shakespeare in Mark Harmon's "Shakespeare's Sisters" The CW network will team up with Mark Harmon ("NCIS") to workshop and develop "Shakespeare's Sisters," a period drama following William Shakespeare's meteoric life and career history in the late 16th century.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show is currently "described as a tale of black magic, romance and revenge, [and] the drama is set in 1590s London...[it] chronicles a young Will Shakespeare's rise to prominence as he finds himself caught in a deadly conflict among three witches and the most powerful woman in the world, Queen Elizabeth. The project is described as having the grit of HBO's hit fantasy drama 'Game of Thrones' with the wit and heart of 'Shakespeare in Love.'" The Reporter also stated that the show comes on the heels of the moderate success of the CW's other period drama "Reign," the story of the young Mary Queen of Scots.

The script will be penned by Scott Sullivan ("NCIS: Los Angeles") and Harmon along with Kim Tannenbaum produce.

Brad Silberling ("Jane The Virgin") will executive produce and direct.
