News The Exonerated to Bow in London in February The American death row drama The Exonerated will make its London debut at the Riverside Studios, playing Feb. 21–June 11, 2006.

The 90-minute play won a Fringe First at this year’s Edinburgh Festival, where it received its U.K. premiere.

Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, the piece is based on the authors’ 40 interviews with American prisoners who, after being condemned to death row for execution, were subsequently released when later found innocent.

The play was first performed in spring 2002 at Hollywood actor/director Tim Robbins’ Actors’ Gang Theatre in Los Angeles. Under Bob Balaban’s direction, the show has built a starry list of cast members during the play’s 608 Off Broadway performances.

Stars drawn to the show include Peter Boyle, Gabriel Byrne, Richard Dreyfuss, Mia Farrow, Peter Gallagher, Jeff Goldblum, Andrew McCarthy, Alanis Morisette, Rob Morrow, Bebe Neuwirth, Amanda Plummer, Aidan Quinn, Lynn Redgrave, Kyra Sedgwick, Ally Sheedy, Brooke Shields, Kathleen Turner, Montel Williams and Debra Winger.

The full cast of the Riverside season has yet to be announced, but it’s thought likely to include Aidan Quinn who appeared in the Edinburgh run. Last January Court-TV broadcast a television adaptation of the play featuring Brian Dennehy, Danny Glover, Delrohy Lindo, Susan Sarandon, Aidan Quinn and David Brown Jr.
