Performances in Issaquah begin Jan. 23 and continue through March 2; subsequent performances in Everett run March 7-30.

Yorkey, who wrote the book and lyrics of the musical Next to Normal, also wrote the book and lyrics of If/Then, which begins previews on Broadway March 5, starring Tony winner Idina Menzel. Yorkey is also collaborating with Sting on the musical The Last Ship, which will open on Broadway in the fall.

The cast of The Foreigner includes Erik Gratton as Charlie, Eric Ray Anderson as Owen, Angela DiMarco as Catherine, Jonathan Crimeni as the Reverend David Marshall Lee, Sharva Maynard as Betty Meeks, Anthony Lee Phillips as Ellard Simms and Patrick Phillips as Froggy LeSueur.

"In the outrageously funny The Foreigner, the pathologically shy Charlie goes to a fishing lodge in Georgia looking for a little peace and quiet," press notes state. "To avoid conversation, he masquerades as a foreigner who can't speak English. He soon realizes that people say the most extraordinary things when they think no one can understand them and his serene getaway suddenly turns into a hive of drama and intrigue."

The creative team includes Matt Smucker (scenic design), Tom Sturge (lighting designer) and Melanie Burgess (costume design). Monique Walker is the properties master, and Brent Walker is the resident sound designer.

Yorkey has directed 12 shows at Village Theatre and workshopped a number of new shows through Village Theatre's Festival of New Musicals.
