Menken tweeted about the projects in recent days. His musical episode of the ABC comedy "The Neighbors" centers around the characters of Larry (Simon Templeman) and Jackie (Toks Olagundoye), who discover Broadway musicals.

Menken is also on board for his first DreamWorks film, "Lidsville," based on the live-action kids series about a world of living hats and oversized personalities. It is his first non-Disney animated feature. DreamWorks originally announced the 3-D project in 2011, but according to Menken's tweet, the project has finally gained momentum.

"LIDSVILLE is underway...FINALLY. Back to the 60's. Peace, love and psychedelia! And Dreamworks is pretty great. So many old friends there," Menken wrote.

Sid & Marty Krofft ("H.R. Pufnstuf," "The Bugaloos") created the original television series and are involved in the DreamWorks project. According to an earlier DreamWorks press release, "'Lidsville' will take inspiration from the premise of the original television series, in which a young rebellious kid falls into an alternate reality world of living hats and talking caps."

As recently reported by Playbill.com, Menken's upcoming Broadway venture will be a two-act stage adaptation of Aladdin, which will premiere on Broadway in 2014 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
