After a successful 17-week run at the Whitefire Theatre and the Two Roads Theatre last spring, The Quiet Room or What Happens When a Schizoid Ballerina Is Locked in a Room with a Duck returns to Two Roads for a one-week run Jan. 22-30. The solo play, written and performed by Pamela Levin, returns to L.A. after engagements at the Kraine Theatre in New York, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, where it made the Top Ten list (out of 106 plays). Here in L.A. The Quiet Room was selected as an L.A. Weekly "Pick of the Week." Levin will shortly take her show on a one-month tour of Australia.Produced by Edmund Gaynes, The Quiet Room explores the inner-workings of a manic-depressive in a darkly comic way. Confined with four walls, the woman amuses herself with imaginary personalities, conversations with God, and playful music that perpetually fills her head.
Two Roads Theatre is located at 4348 Tujunga Ave. in Studio City. For tickets and information call (818) 761-0704.
