Darren Criss, who will soon make his Broadway debut in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, rose to fame with his cover of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" when he entered the world of "Glee" in the show's second season.

On last night's "Pot 'O Gold" episode, Criss channeled Perry once again with a cover of the pop star's latest single, "Last Friday Night." When Mercedes (Amber Riley) decides to leave the New Directions to join Shelby Corcoran's (Idina Menzel) all-girl glee club, tensions rise at McKinley High. However, Blaine (Criss) tries to maintain control and show the group what glee club is all about.

Also on the latest episode, Damian McGinty, who tied with Samuel Larsen for winner of the reality contest "The Glee Project," made his debut as foreign-exchange student Rory Flanagan.

On the next episode, "The First Time," according to Fox, "the kids prepare to perform the school musical West Side Story. Meanwhile, Finn (Cory Monteith) meets with a recruiter, and Coach Bieste (Dot-Marie Jones) has an admirer." The episode is scheduled to air Nov. 8.

Later in the season, Spring Awakening's Jonathan Groff will make a return, reprising his role as Jesse St. James, and Chord Overstreet, who played Sam Evans, will return to the series for a multi-episode arc beginning in December.

"Glee" airs Tuesday nights on Fox at 8 PM ET. To watch "Last Friday Night" from last night's episode, look below:
