News THE SCREENING ROOM: Tony Yazbeck, Carol Channing and More Celebrate The Shubert Theatre's 100th Anniversary! The famed Shubert Theatre in New Haven, CT is celebrating it's 100th anniversary Dec. 11. Known through the industry as “birthplace of the nation’s greatest hits”, the Shubert was a popular try-out house in the golden age of theatre – hosting world premieres of musicals like Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, My Fair Lady, Annie Get Your Gun, The Sound of Music and many more.

To celebrate the centennial, the Shubert has asked dozens of performers to record a video shout out and Playbill.com asks our readers, "if you've played the Shubert during your career, share a story or memory of your time," in New Haven.
