News The Second City: Too Busy to Hate… Too Hard to Commute Begins Alliance Run Sept. 19 The Alliance Theatre presentation of The Second City: Too Busy to Hate… Too Hard to Commute, a co-production with Chicago's Second City improv troupe, begins its Atlanta run Sept. 19.

Matt Hovde directs the production, which will run through Oct. 19 on the Hertz stage. An official opening night is set for Sept. 24.

The Atlanta-specific work, written and created by the cast of Second City, "takes a Southern-fried stab at Atlanta, creating a show that reflects the city in all its diversity, complexity and hilarity." The production features additional material by Ed Furman and T.J. Shanoff.

The cast of the two-act satire includes Anthony Irons, Michael Lehrer, Robyn Norris, Amy Roeder, Tim Stoltenberg and Ric Walker. Lisa McQueen serves as musical director.
