Oregon Cabaret Theatre in Ashland kicks off its 1998 season Feb. 11 with The Taffetas, a sort of female counterpart to Forever Plaid, about a quartet of sisters from Muncie, IN, who sing in four-part harmony.

The show includes such '50s songs as "Sh'Boom," "Mr. Sandman," "(How Much is That) Doggie in the Window," "Allegheny Moon," "I'm Sorry," "Old Cape Cod" and "The Tennessee Waltz."

The Taffetas runs through Mar. 30 with performances Thu.-Mon. at 8 PM and a Sun. brunch performance at 1 PM.

Upcoming productions at the theatre include The Compleat Works of Wllm Shakspr, Abridged, directed by David Kelly of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, April 10-June 8; Song of Singapore, June. 19-Sept. 7; a new musical by Jahnna Beecham and Malcolm Hillgartner, Chaps, about a group of American 'cowboy singers' who are asked to perform on London's BBC radio during World War II, Sept. 16-Nov. 9; and a Christmas pantomime, Panto! Nov. 20-Dec. 31.
