News The Thing About Men Gets Chicago-Area Debut Jan. 20, 2005; Pullinsi Directs Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts' Off-Broadway musical comedy, The Thing About Men gets its resident Chicago-area debut in a William Pullinsi-directed staging starting Jan. 20, 2005, at Theatre at the Center, in Munster, Indiana.

The musical based on the German film comedy "Men" concerns a philandering husband (Tom) who falls apart when he finds out his wife (Lucy) is having an affair with an artist (Sebastian).Tom schemes to become the roommate of her lover, and comic growing pains follow. Opening is Jan. 28. Performances continue to Feb. 27.

DiPietro (book and lyrics) and Roberts (music) wrote the mega-hit revue, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

A cast album of the New York production preserves the work of Marc Kudisch as hubby Tom, Ron Bohmer as artist-lover Sebastian and Leah Hocking as wife Lucy.

In Indiana, the cast includes Alan Ball (Tom), Cory Goodrich (Lucy), Erik Parker (Sebastian), Christine Sherrill (ensemble) and Jason Sperling (ensemble).
