"Remembering Betty Comden" will make its premiere Sept. 21 at 12:30 AM ET on PBS/Thirteen. Lyricist Susan Birkenhead will chat about her late friend, and the 30-minute program will also feature excerpts from interviews with Comden in 1993, 1994 and 1997; the latter also featured Comden's writing partner Adolph Green. Excerpts from Comden and Green performing their own songs will also be included. Betty Comden, the award-winning lyricist and librettist who — with writing partner Adolph Green — created such iconic New York musicals as Bells Are Ringing, Wonderful Town and On the Town, died Nov. 23, 2006. She was 89.
