News Theatre L.A. Names 1998-99 Board of Governors LOS ANGELES--Theatre L.A. has named its Board of Governors for the 1998-99 season. The group is a collective of more than 150 Los Angeles theatres and theatrical organizations.

LOS ANGELES--Theatre L.A. has named its Board of Governors for the 1998-99 season. The group is a collective of more than 150 Los Angeles theatres and theatrical organizations.

Representing educational theatres will be James Thomas Bailey, board member of the Southern California Educational Theatre Association. Representing independent producers will be Michael Kaliski, Taboo Theatre producer.

Re-elected to represent larger nonprofit theatres were Charles Dillingham, managing director of Center Theatre Group, and Lars Hanson, executive director of the Pasadena Playhouse.

Joan Stein, executive director of the Canon Theatre, will represent mid-sized for-profit theatres. Tim Dang, artistic director of East West Players, was re-elected to represent mid sized nonprofit theatres. Elected to represent smaller nonprofit theatres were Brian Kite, artistic director of Buffalo Nights Theatre Company, and Jon White-Spunner, executive director of the 24th Street Theatre.

Peter Ellenstein, artistic director of L.A. Repertory Company, and Lee Wochner, artistic director of Moving Arts, were re-elected as representatives-at-large. Joining the board as new representatives are Hilary Genga, President of Genga Productions, and Jon Lawrence Rivera, Artistic Director of Playwright's Arena. -- By Michael Farkash
