Entitled Turn Me On . . . Turn Me Up, the 8 PM performance will mark Rooney's first New York solo show. The evening, according to press notes, will transport the audience to "to different locations and atmospheres – including a salon caught between Victorian England and the Weimar Republic to a Glam Rock Discotheque of 1980s-esque proportions - while performing the adrenaline-infused work of a diverse list of greats, from Kurt Weill and Mozart to The Doors, Madonna, Jefferson Airplane, Heart and Queen." The production will also feature original material penned by Rooney and Paul Leschen.

In addition to The Threepenny Opera, Rooney has also appeared on the New York stage in Warrior, The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde, The Man in the Iron Mask and Pure Heaven: The Music of Kay Thompson. Rooney was nominated for a 2003 Carbonell Award for his performance in Floyd Collins and a 2005 Metro-Carolina Award for his work in Forever Plaid. His other credits include productions of West Side Story, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Bat Boy! The Musical and The Student Prince.

Tickets, priced $22, are available by calling (212) 352-3101 or by visiting www.zippertheatre.com. The Zipper Factory is located in Manhattan at 336 West 37th Street.
