News Threepenny's McKay to Sing at Joe's Pub in August Nellie McKay, who played Polly Peachum in the Roundabout's 2006 revival of The Threepenny Opera, will go it solo at Joe's Pub in August.

McKay will play the intimate club, located within the Public Theater, Aug. 8 and 22. Show time is 11:30 PM. The evening will feature songs from McKay's new CD, "Obligatory Villagers," which is scheduled for a Sept. 25 release on the Hungry Mouse label. A follow-up to her 2006 disc "Pretty Little Head," the new recording features jazz greats Phil Woods, David Liebman and Bob Dorough.

Nellie McKay is a performer, songwriter and activist. She scored the movie musical "The Amazing True Story of a Teenage Single Mom" and won a Theatre World Award for her Broadway bow in Threepenny Opera.
