Playbill.com previously reported that Jones and the Playhouse were in talks to do the work. Foglia directed On Golden Pond, Jones' recent Broadway gig.
Jones will play former Civil Rights great and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
The new work is by George Stevens, Jr., the famed filmmaker's son who is best known for producing the Kennedy Center Honors. The play will be co-produced by Bill Haber.
Tickets are now on sale to Westport subscribers only. They will go on sale to the general public on April 19. If all goes well in Connecticut, the play is thought to have a New York future.

The first season at Westport Country Playhouse under new artistic director Tazewell Thompson was recently announced. The season kicked off on March 9 with Eric Overmeyer's On the Verge. Long a regional theatre favorite, the play is the fantastical, wordy saga of three female adventuresses, circa 1888, who journey into "Terra Incognita."
