Individual tickets have gone on sale at the Mark Taper Forum for Patrick Marber's Closer, which opens Nov. 9 in a production directed by Robert Egan. The run is through Dec. 10. Marber is a hot young British playwright and this time around he has turned out a dark comedy about sex and longing. Closer is set in London where two men and two women connect, disconnect and reconnect. Locked in a constantly shifting love quadrangle, they attempt to get "closer"--to find new levels of intimacy. Through Marber's use of tough, urban language, the play reveals much about sexual politics and how little we know about ourselves and each other.
