The Berkshire Theatre Festival will pack up its Toys and go home on July 22 when the Fest's production of Lillian Hellman's Toys in the Attic shuts down. The show began its run on July 11.

John Tillinger directs a cast of seasoned stage players, including Roxanne Hart, Lizbeth MacKay, Debra Mooney, Jeffrey Donovan, Seana Kofoed, Michael Early and Richard Johnson.

Tillinger has directed dozens of New York City projects, from Broadway's Night Must Fall and Inherit the Wind to Off-Broadway's The Memory of Water, Dealer's Choice, Sylvia and The Last Yankee. He's scheduled to stage Judgment at Nuremberg for the National Actors Theater on Broadway this season.

MacKay recently starred on Broadway in The Price, while Kofoed was seen at Manhattan Theatre Club in An Experiment with an Air Pump and The Memory of Water, the last directed by Tillinger.

* In other Bershire news, Richard Chamberlain will star in The Shadow of Greatness, a new play to be presented at the Berkshire Theatre Festival, July 25-Aug. 12. The Stockbridge, MA, fest runs from June 21 to Sept. 2 and will feature four mainstage productions and three offerings in the smaller Unicorn Theatre.

In Shadow, Chamberlain plays a "renowned and tormented playwright" who is trying to divest himself of his fame. Somehow, this involves his inviting three of his biggest fans to his New York brownstone on a "dark, cloudy night." Shadow is written by the not-so-renowned playwright, Gary Socol. Martin Rabbett will direct.

Co-starring are Jan Maxwell, Kelly Overbey and Ross Gibby.

The rest of the Main Stage season runs as follows:
• Say Yes!, a new musical, by Wally Harper and Sherman Yellen, centered on the 1939 New York World's Fair, directed by Jay Binder, Aug. 15-Sept. 2. Meredith Patterson, Jay Robert Spencer, Denny Dillon, Nick Kutro, Linda Thorson, Christianne Tisdale, John Deyle and Tim Warman star

The Unicorn Theatre season runs as follows:

• Best Kept Secret, A Dangerous Liaison in the Cold War, by Katherine Houghton, directed by John Going, June 16-July 1.
• Coyote on a Fence, by Bruce Graham, directed by James Warwick, July 6-29.
• The Einstein Project by Paul D'Andrea and Jon Klein, co-directed by Oliver Butler and Eric Hill.
