The four-day event boasts an array of artists, journalists, musicians and television personalities who will be interviewed by journalists from the Times over the Jan. 6-9, 2011, weekend.
The Arts & Leisure Weekend will launch Jan. 6, 2011, from 6-7:15 PM with Spacey ("American Beauty," Moon for the Misbegotten) discussing his career as an actor and his role as the creative director for London's Old Vic.
Evita and Chess lyricist Rice will be joined by a host of Broadway performers Jan. 7, 2011, from 6-7:15 PM. The evening will celebrate his works written for Disney, which includes such musicals as Aida, Beauty and the Beast as well as "Aladdin" and "The Lion King."
On Jan. 8, 2011, the Times will welcome Spider-Man and Lion King director Taymor from 2-3:30 PM. Academy Award-winning actor Robert Redford will also appear that day from 4-5:15 PM to discuss his latest film, "The Conspirator," and his work with the Sundance Institute. The evening will conclude with brother and sister singer-songwriters Rufus and Martha Wainwright from 8-9:15 PM.
The cast and creators of HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" will appear Jan. 9, 2011, from 4-5:15 PM. Co-creator Terence Winter will be joined by cast members Steve Buscemi, Paz de la Huerta and Michael Shannon.
Times theatre contributor Patrick Healy will interview Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong and American Idiot director and co-author Michael Mayer about the rock musical that aims to capture a moment in America's disenchanted history.
