The Philadelphia Orchestra has announced two additions to the Academy of Music's 150th anniversary concert on January 27: former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw will serve as host, and actor John Lithgow will appear as vocalist in a medley titled Theater at the Academy.

The concert also features the Philadelphia Orchestra, led by music director Christoph Eschenbach, performing the General Dance from Daphnis et Chlo_; opera arias and choruses featuring soprano Deborah Voigt, tenor Ben Heppner, and the Philadelphia Singers Chorale; and music from Disney's Fantasia.

Rock icon Rod Stewart will make a special guest appearance singing a selection of popular songs; Peter Nero joins Stewart and the orchestra on piano for one of the song selections. (Additional special guest appearances will be announced at a later date.)
