Tony Awards Thank You Cam Goes Digital

For the 64th Annual Tony Awards, the winners’ second-try thank you’s on the Thank You Cam, which had only been available online for a few years, will now be accessible by mobile app.

The Tony Awards are teaming up with iBroadway, a new and free touch code providing access to all things theatre, to produce this year’s Thank You Cam Series. The backstage camera allows winners to thank those they forgot in the rush of their acceptance speeches and to speak to fans about their initial thoughts on winning.

Instead of standing in a single spot to deliver their thanks, as has happened in the past, winners will now be filmed delivering their thanks as they are escorted to the press room in vehicles specially provided by Avis.

You can thrill to the glamour of it all on your iPhone, and if you’re still stuck in the laptop or desktop age, the thank-you’s will also be available on tonyawards.com.

The Tony Awards air June 13 at 8 PM ET on CBS. Visit tonyawards.com or ibroadway.net.
