Lewis, who earned a Tony nomination for Porgy and Bess, has also bee seen in the 25th anniversary concert of Les Misérables, as well as Sondheim on Sondheim, Side Show, The Little Mermaid, The Wild Party, Dessa Rose and Miss Saigon. His solo album "Norm Lewis: This Is the Life!" was released in 2008.

His concert, Norm Lewis: Who Am I?, will take place at 8:30 PM in the Allen Room. Lewis will be joined on stage by musicians Joseph Joubert, George Farmer and Perry Cavari. Special guest include Pastor Bobby Lewis and the Bobby Lewis Ensemble.

"I feel honored to be a part of a New York tradition of excellence. I know those audiences at American Songbook because I have been among them, and I am looking forward to being on the other side," Lewis told Playbill.com.

Director Jay-Alexander added, "Working with Norm on a Broadway show is one thing. Working with him as a solo artist is another experience entirely. His musicianship and depth have had me marveling. To work in a room with him and musical director Joseph Joubert and communicate and talk and approach each song, you end up talking about life, the world, the composers and lyricists, and just about everything in between. Then, there is that voice. That amazing voice with all those colors and all that strength and all that information. And, yes, there have been plenty of laughs, too. I am very excited to sit and watch and listen, along with the audience, on Saturday night."
