News Tony Winner Geoffrey Rush and Jacki Weaver Receive Australia Day Honors Tony Award winner Geoffrey Rush and Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver have been named in the Australia Day honors list, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Weaver ("Silver Linings Playbook"), who will also receive the Raymond Longford Award at the Australian Academy Awards Jan. 30, has been named as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for "service to the performing arts; as a supporter of charity and social welfare programs and as a role model and mentor to young performers."

Rush, who was honored as a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC), was named by Australian governor general Quentin Bryce for his "eminent service'' to the arts as an actor and film producer, along with being a role model and mentor for aspiring artists.

Rush is a Tony Award winner for Exit the King.
