New York is such a transient city that it's rare to find folks living in the same place for very long, but Broadway's Eric Anderson (Soul Doctor, Rocky) and Jessica Rush (Jersey Boys, Gypsy) break that mold. They live in the same apartment that they moved into eight years ago in Astoria, Queens…the first apartment they viewed upon arriving from LA. The 850 square foot, one-bedroom apartment houses their impressive collection of Broadway show memorabilia, Justin 'Squigs' Robertson art, and, now that they've added a little one to their family, a creative "nursery" for seven month-old-baby Elliot. Jessica, out of necessity, has invented some amazingly creative storage solutions, telling us, "This is what you have to do. If I didn't stay organized, our life would be in chaos."

After visiting with Jessica and Eric, we made a stop at their favorite neighborhood spot, Sanford's. An Astoria landmark since 1922, Sanford's has remained a top destination for great food and deliciously strong drinks. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so whether you are in the mood for a post-show drink, an early Sunday brunch, or 3 AM waffles, it is the perfect place to go in Astoria.

Astoria is well known in the theatre community as a place where many actors live and rent their' first apartments and a fitting place to begin our Broadway Boroughs series… Even Candi and Quinn have both called Astoria home! Often referred to as "Actoria", Astoria is affordable, safe, and offers an easy commute to midtown. In true showbiz fashion, the couple lives off the Broadway stop of the N/Q train. They have nothing but good things to say about their quaint little corner of the city. "If you have to work in the city you take the train and you go underground…you come out from it and are able to see (Manhattan) go away in the distance. It gives you some nice perspective and a nice break away from the chaos of it."
