Adventure, a musical adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island," will launch a new production company called Book in-Hand, designed to present showcases of original musical theatre works.

The musical will be performed June 2-14 at the Producers' Club Theatre on Ninth Avenue in Manhattan.

Will Holt, who formed the company with Dion Alden and Jan Morgan, wrote the lyrics for this maiden project. The music is by Gary William Friedman, and the book is by Sherman Yellen. B.T. McNicholl will stage the work, with Aaron Hagan as musical director and Richard Winkler in charge of lighting.

Larry Storch has signed up for a double role in the show--"Old Bones" and "Ben Gunn." Hughes-Moss is currently casting the rest of the roles.

True to the name of the company, its Equity cast will keep script in hand while performing. A minimum of stage lights, sets and props will be used to emphasize the theatrical potential of the property. Book-in-Hand has three purposes: 1) to allow authors an opportunity to hear their works, 2) to attract potential producers and backers and 3) to utilize a rotating repertory company in a wide range of characters.
