News Trinity Rep Announces Cast for Shapeshifter World Premiere Miriam Silverman and Brian McEleney will star in the world premiere of Laura Schellhardt's Shapeshifter for the Trinity Repertory Theatre in May.

Laura Kepley directs the premiere engagement that begins performances May 1 and will officially open in the Dowling Theater May 6. Shapeshifter runs through May 31 at the Providence, RI, theatre company.

Schellhardt is the playwright in residence at Trinity Rep. Her new work is described as such: "While waiting for the fishermen to return after a terrible storm, young Midge (Silverman) and the old villager Fierson (McEleney) trade tales of mysterious women who come from the water, air and fire. As they spin their tales in the days that follow, the stories somehow seem to mirror Midge’s own family history."

The cast of Shapeshifter also features Rachael Warren, Anne Scurria, Fred Sullivan, Jr. and Joe Wilson, Jr.

The production team includes Loy Arcenas (set design), William Lane (costume design), Brian J. Lilienthal (lighting design) and John Gromada (sound design).

Schellhardt's plays include Air Guitar High, Auctioning the Ainsleys, The Apothecary's Daughter, The K of D, Courting Vampires, Shapeshifter, Inheritance and Je Ne Sais Quoi. Tickets to Shapeshifter at Trinity Rep, 201 Washington Street in Providence, RI, are available by calling (401) 351-4242.
