According to Variety, Tucci also penned the screenplay for the comedic drama that is described as a coming-of-age story of a middle-aged man living in Upper Westchester County who is clinging to remnants of his once elite life. Brosnan will portray the central character; filming will begin in September.
The film is produced by Olive Productions, Irish DreamTime and Stan Erdreich.
Tucci has appeared on Broadway in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Execution of Justice, The Iceman Cometh and The Misanthrope. He earned an Emmy for his work on "Monk" and won Golden Globes for his screen performances in "Conspiracy" and "Winchell." His screenplays include "Big Night," "The Imposters," "Joe Gould's Secret" and the forthcoming film "Blind Date."
Tucci may also direct a forthcoming Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor, although no official announcement has been made.
