News   Two Chicago Veteran Actors Killed in Separate Tragic Accidents Sept. 6
 
According to ChicagoTribune.com, longtime Chicago theatre veteran Molly Glynn was killed after she was hit by a falling tree while biking on a forest trail; in a separate tragic accident, longtime Chicago stage veteran and Broadway actor Bernard Yvon also died in car crash in Munster, IN the same day.

Both actors passed Sept. 6.

Glynn was biking on a forest preserve trail with her husband, fellow actor Joe Foust, when, "the pair were caught in the fast-moving afternoon storm...heavy winds uprooted a tree onto the path where she was riding in Erickson Woods near Northfield, authorities said." Glynn, 46, was struck and killed.

Glynn was a regular at the large Chicago theatres, including Steppenwolf, Writer's Theatre and Chicago Shakespeare, as well as at the Northlight, where she appeared in Tom Jones last winter. Her televsion credits include "Boss" on Starz and NBC's "Chicago Fire."

Yvon, known professionally as Bernie, was killed on the way to his rehearsal for Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown at the Theatre at the Center in Munster, IN. According to MyFoxChicago.com, "a preliminary investigation indicated a semi was driving north on Calumet when the Toyota [carrying Yvon], headed southbound, tried to make a left turn." A collision followed. Authorities found Yvon dead upon arrival.

Yvon was a celebrated musical theatre performer in Chicago and a graduate of Northwestern University. He appeared on Broadway in the role of Harry Houdini in Ragtime. Playbill.com will continue to update.
