"Roger Jackson is a hard working good man, an accountant by profession," according to The Marriage Counselor press notes. "He takes care of not only his wife Judith but his weed smokin' pop Stanley and Judith's retired bible totin' mom, TT. The two parents living in the same household do not get along. Judith, the professional Ivy League educated marriage counselor, gives marital advice every day. However, she can't get her own marriage together! As shattered, confused and broken couples seek advice, Dr. Jackson has an answer for them all. Yet, when an old college friend appears at her office unexpectedly, the doctor becomes the one in need of advice. Who are the real marriage counselors? What makes a marriage sizzle or fizzle?"

The play features original songs penned by Perry; the DVD also includes interviews with the cast.

Tyler Perry's The Marriage Counselor: The Play runs 143 minutes and has a suggested retail price of $19.98.
