News U.K. Production of Wonderful Town, With Connie Fisher, Will Tour Following Premiere at Lowry, Salford Quays The previously announced new U.K. production of Wonderful Town, which brings together Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre, the Halle Orchestra and the Lowry in Salford Quays for its premiere at the latter beginning performances March 31, 2012, will embark on an 11-week U.K. tour following its run there.

The production, which will star Connie Fisher (winner of BBC's "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?," who subsequently played the role of Maria in The Sound of Music at the London Palladium and subsequently on tour), will visit Milton Keynes Theatre, Sheffield's Lyceum, Glasgow's King's, Nottingham's Theatre Royal, Birmingham's Hippodrome, Southampton's Mayflower, Norwich's Theatre Royal, Newcastle's Theatre Royal, Woking's New Victoria Theatre, Plymouth's Theatre Royal and Cardiff's Wales Millennium Centre.

The production is directed by Braham Murray, with choreography by Andrew Wright, designs by Simon Higlett and lighting by Chris Davey. Leonard Bernstein's score will be performed at The Lowry by The Hallé Orchestra, conducted by their musical director Sir Mark Elder. The tour orchestra is also chosen by him.

The tour is produced by Lee Menzies and Kenneth Wax for Wonderful Town UK Ltd.

Full casting details will be announced in January 2012.
