Lindsey Gates and Nicole Lowrance play the sisters, with Jeffrey Parrillo and Joel Repman as the brothers.

Mark Schneider and Valentina Fratti direct the respective dark comedies in which "desperation and hope in a surreal world send two pairs of siblings into a vortex of confusion and decision-making."

Opening night is June 9 at TFTNC at 155 First Avenue between 9th and 10th Avenues.

Schneider directs Two Sisters, about siblings who "believe they are on a road leading home," according to production notes. "Their dreams dashed, they long for a respite, but a secret will derail their journey."

Fratti directs the tale of Two Brothers, "one, just back from missionary work in India and one who has stayed to attend to family responsibilities." They "have to decide how best to care for their ailing father."

"Italian-born Bassetti is an award-winning and much-produced playwright in Italy, Spain, France Czech Republic, Croatia, Venezuela, Chile and Austria," Fratti told Playbill.com. "His writing evokes Beckett and Shepard blending into his unique style, building powerful emotional relationships between his characters against a surreal and mysterious world. The characters needs are so strong, infused with humor and pathos. It's a joy to see what is being written in Italy for Italian audiences and to see how universal the work is…" The production team includes scenic designer Mark Marcante, costume designer Brooke Cohen, lighting designer Alex Bartenieff, sound designer Jack O'Brien and production stage manager Gary Adamsen.
